Performing a Body Massage treatment is an opportunity for you to give your client a relaxing and enjoyable treatment designed to encourage a feeling of wellbeing.
This course will teach you everything you need to know about offering a professional full body massage and includes a practical training session and assessment.
This GTi Body Massage course follows the National Occupational Standards and covers reception, consultation and ventilation. It also covers anatomy and physiology, contra-indications and contra-actions, skin conditions, preparing for treatment, massage techniques and a full body massage routine.
The GTi Body Massage course includes the GTi Professional Standards course, usually priced at £64.80, for all students who have not completed this course.
The GTi Body Massage Award is accredited by the Guild of Beauty Therapists, the UK’s leading professional beauty trade body.
The course is beautifully written and accompanied by images, video clips and a voice-over. Upon completion of the online theory modules, you will receive a PDF manual which you can refer back to. Twenty-one of the modules and examinations are completed online with full online support available.
You will also be assessed at a one-day assessment at the Nailchemy Academy practical training centre. You will have the opportunity to practice the routine on friends and family before being assessed by an experienced tutor at a time to suit you. On completion of the course, successful students will receive a GTi Body Massage certificate which is acceptable for insurance purposes with The Guild of Beauty Therapists.
Once you have completed the theory modules, a practical session code will be displayed on the final module which you can pass on to your chosen training school. When you have successfully completed your practical training, your tutor will pass you and a GTi Certificate will be available for you to download or purchase on your portal.

Overview
Summary: This course covers the technique for performing a full body massage routine. The theory is delivered online with clear diagrams and audio. Practical training is taught in a one-day session at a choice of UK locations. Reception, consultation and aftercare guidance are covered as well as contra-indications to treatment. Photographs and videos ensure this course is both engaging and informative to give you the confidence to perform body massage treatments.

How do I enrol on the course?
You can enrol on the course by purchasing the course via the Nailchemy Limited Website.
How soon after enrolling can I start the course?
Once you have enrolled on the course and paid the course deposit, you will have immediate access to the online course modules which means you can start learning straight away. Practical training will be provided within three weeks of completion of the theory aspect of the course. The remaining balance of £180.00 to be paid direct to your educator.
How long will it take me to complete the course?
The time it takes to complete the course will depend on how quickly you learn as an individual, and also on the number of hours per day you spend on it.
Is there a time limit for completing the course?
No.
Is the course accredited?
The course is fully accredited by the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists for membership and insurance.
Is the course accredited for Continuing Professional Development – CPD?
Yes. The course is accredited for Continuing Professional Development by the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists.
What support is available to me whilst doing the course?
All courses have access to integrated email support from fully qualified therapists and tutors.
What if I am dyslexic?
Each course module includes an audio soundtrack of the course material which is ideal for students who are dyslexic.
Do I need anything special on my computer?
You will need to have a modern web browser and speakers or headphones. Please note that the course modules do not currently run on some mobile devices such as iPhones and iPads and are not compatible with Google Chrome browsers. Please feel free to run our free trial module to check if the course will run on your computer.
How will the course be marked?
Following each course module, you will take an online examination which requires a pass rate of around 70%. For the practical module, you will need to demonstrate that you can perform the outlined tasks to the skill level required.
Am I allowed to refer to text books or notes during the examination?
No. You are expected to complete online tests under exam conditions without referring to any notes, text books or online help.
What if I fail a module?
If you fail a module you have the ability to re-take the examination twice. If you fail the module you will be contacted by the tutor who will offer support before making a final attempt.
What happens if I Fail the course?
If you do fail the course based on your practical assessment you can choose to re-sit the assessment within 2 weeks of your initial assessment date. There is a re-sit fee of £30 per hour to be paid direct to your tutor.
Do I need to complete any paperwork?
No. All examinations are completed online and a record of your marks is displayed in your login area. When you complete your practical module you may need to fill out your details as well as a review form.
What will I receive when I complete the course?
You will receive a GTi Award certificate which will be mailed to you on successful completion of the course.
