Course Summary
Prerequisites: Level 2 Manicure qualification or have a certificate from our Nailchemy Academy Manicure Diploma course.
Qualification: Nailchemy Academy Diploma. This ABT Accredited qualification will enable you to obtain public liability insurance upon successful completion of the course.Course duration:
- 8 hours of self-study time.
- 2-day online tutor led practical training. The Practical training days will consist of dedicated tutor time on the theory aspect of the course and a knowledge assessment based on self-study theory learning along with a chance to learn the required techniques and perform treatments.
- Day 2 includes a practical assessment (model required for this day).
Please note that the number of theory hours required to complete this course as stated above is provided as a guideline only. The actual number of theory hours required will vary depending on the speed at which you learn.

Course details
This course will teach you the theoretical and practical methods required to carry out Acrylic Nail Extensions service using tips. During your course, we will be using Acrylic products which will give you the ability as a qualified nail professional to apply a full set of quality Acrylic nail extensions in approximately 2 - 2.5 hours.
As tutors, we aim to provide you with all the knowledge needed to work in the beauty industry safely and with confidence.
By the end of this course, you (the student) will be able to:
- Understand laws, acts and regulations in relation to being a Nail Technician.
- Maintain safe and effective methods of working when delivering Acrylic Nail Extensions application treatment.
- Explain the anatomy, physiology and pathologies related to your chosen therapy.
- Consult, plan and prepare for treatments with clients, including advising on suitable nail shapes and lengths.
- Understand bead and product ratio, purpose of an apex placement and strength areas of the nail enhancement.
- Perform an Acrylic Nail Extension application treatment including French & Natural.
- Perform an Infill & Rebalance including removal of product
- Provide aftercare advice.
- Can be used to strengthen, protect and promote growth in the natural nail.
- Can add instant length to a client’s nails and give them the desired shape they have been looking for.
- Can be used to create endless designs and 3D Nail Art.
- Strong and long-lasting, with minimal damage to the natural nail if removed correctly
- No electrical equipment to set the product.
- Acrylic can be a more cost-effective alternative to hard gel products

What do I need to do next?

What do I need for the practical training day?
- You will need to be setup in your nail work space with your phone/tablet setup so that the tutor can see your work.
- You will ideally need a model, however you can also work on yourself for this.
Course theory and practical
After you have completed the theory section of the course and answered the evaluation questions you need to ensure you send these to your tutor before the practical training.
During the practical session, you will work through a whole treatment session from set-up to aftercare and be assessed on your work. If you pass the course your certificate will be sent to you from our head office with 14 days of completing your course and you will be able to gain insurance with ABT.

What happens after the course?
Once you are a fully qualified practitioner and you have gained the correct insurance we suggest.
